We opened Canvas n Cork here in Sarasota eight months ago now & are settling in & having a great time! April has been such an exciting month for all of us here that I can't wait to tell you about it! We are having a fund raiser for Cat Depot on Tuesday the 4th starting around 6 pm. There will be food, wine, music, art... & more!

The annual county fair was here in Sarasota this past month & one of our paint-and-partiers, Sheila, and her daughter entered the paintings they did at Canvas-n-Cork in the exhibit of paintings & sculpture that filled a large tent, & guess what: Sheila's daughter, Haley, won second prize while her mother won third! Not only that but Sheila, the budding artist has taken a commission to paint another for an admirer of her work. A seminal moment that has opened her eyes to a possible future? Could one ask for more than to be a part of that?

Also, after the sad demise of Joy, Jenny's thirteen year old Dachshund, we organized a paint & party class with all of her family & some of her friends to paint Joy's portrait.

This month we introduced a new canvas size, as well as 16 x 20 inch canvas we are now offering classes where we do two 6 x 6 inch paintings as an alternative. They hang well together in a children's room, kitchen or as accent anywhere wall space is small.
